Have you ever felt like a failure?

Have you ever had a day where you feel you just blew it? Whether it was because you failed at something, or because you sinned, or maybe it seems like you just can't overcome a sin. That's the time to run to God, not run away from God. I believe satan's strategy is to isolate us - to make us feel like we are the only one who is having a particular problem, and bring shame on us. The Bible calls him the accuser of the bretheren. That's what satan does - he accuses!

However all through Scripture we see God helping those who are weak, who are honest about things with Him, and who call on the Name of the Lord in their distress - and He shows love and answers! If you are in a situation that the enemy is trying to bring shame on you, even if it's because of something you did wrong...run to God! Ask God the Father in the Name of Jesus for strength and to bring you to the path of obedience and He will make you strong where you were once weak. I love the Scripture that says  "who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, quenched the fury of the flames, escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies." (Hebrews 11:33-34 NIV). How powerful is this Scripture! Only God can bring the change we truly need, so let's look to Him to help turn our weaknesses around and not to ourselves.

Now don't get me wrong here, we must put in the effort and do our best, however let's make sure we're looking to God to give grace and strength for the change we need. We can't live the Christian life without Christ giving us strength. So let's confess our sins to Jesus to receive His forgiveness (1 John 1:9), then learn to forgive ourselves, and look to Him who can make our weaknesses strong for His glory. Keep in mind this is a process, but He will be with us through the entire journey and He will be faithful to complete the work He began in us!
