To all my fellow worship leaders out there. Father's Day is coming is I know sometimes it's tough to find songs that fit a particular day. Looking for a Father's Day song for your church congregation? You may want to consider the song Father Forever. It's the 7th song on my latest album, God of the Impossible. You can hear a free sample of the song here and get the free lead sheet & chords under the Lead Sheet section. It's a song God burned in my heart about His marvelous love for us and how we will worship Him as our Father God forever. Here's some thoughts on the song from my About the Songs link...
God the Father wants us to know Him as "Abba Father" (read Romans 8:15) which in today's terms would be like saying "Daddy". This is an amazing term of intimacy and shows how much God loves you as a daddy. Many of us have been hurt by poor role models in today's world, and unfortunately even in the church. So many people are turned off by church because of a bad earlier experience, and their image of God is tainted by those experiences. However, people are imperfect-but God is perfect. As we press in and ask God to reveal Himself to us as "Daddy" I believe He will answer that prayer in a powerful way, heal wounds that go very deep, and help us experience Him as a true Father and friend closer that you can ever imagine. As Christians we will have the pleasure of worshipping and serving the Father God forever, the God Who did not spare His only son, Jesus Christ so that through faith in Him we can live eternally in heaven. He is truly - our Father Forever.
I pray it's a blessing to you and your congregation!
